The wife of Canadian actor and comedian Martin Short has died.

Actress Nancy Dolman died at the age of 58, Short’s manager Marc Gurvitz said Monday, but he didn’t provide a cause of death or any additional information. Celebrity websites, such as Extra, said Dolman died Saturday at the couple’s home in the Pacific Palisades, Calif., and that she had been diagnosed with cancer in 2007.

Short, born in Hamilton, Ont., is best known for his comedic roles on TV’s Saturday Night Live and in the Father of the Bride movie franchise, as well as the Canadian sketch comedy television show SCTV.

He and Dolman met while working together in a Canadian production of Godspell and married in 1980.

Dolman’s brother, Bob, married actress and comedian Andrea Martin, but the couple later divorced.

Short and Dolman have three children: Katherine, 27, Oliver, 24, and Henry, 20.
