Omar Khadr’s lawyer collapses in court

  August 12, 2010 – 4:39 pm

Omar Khadr’s Pentagon-appointed defence attorney, army Lt.-Col. Jon Jackson, collapsed in the courtroom at about 3:15 p.m. ET as he cross examined the soldier who had shot Mr. Khadr in the 2002 firefight in Afghanistan.

Lt.-Col. Jackson asked the judge for a brief recess just before he fell to one knee and collapsed onto the floor. He was taken to hospital. He was unconscious for about 30 seconds. His condition was not immediately known.
